Please note: A reyhal is useful for a large, heavy Qur'aan/book or for when reading a book with a large spine for an extended period. A reyhal can also function to protect large books; this is because over time the spine of a large book may become damaged from being kept open flat. Regardless of these benefits, please bear in mind that a reyhal is not necessary to have to read the Qur'aan. Holding the Qur'aan in clean hands and/or placing it on a clean surface is equally acceptable. Allah knows best.
